Computer Technology not lost on San Angelo Seniors
It’s common knowledge that computer technology would be lost on San Angelo’s senior citizens, right? Not according to members of multiple senior citizen computer clubs. In this small west Texas city of about 100,000 people, it seems these folks have a hunger for computer knowledge that most younger people might not expect.
Even if it’s only to keep in touch with their not-so-local children and grandchildren or to discover their roots with genealogy programs, local seniors feel a need to learn about computers. Some go even deeper into knowing multiple operating systems and proper computer maintenance and security!
Anita Short, Membership Officer for the Santa Fe Crossing Computer Club, stays in constant contact with members and offers new computer tips and tricks, by email, on a regular basis. She’s very knowledgeable about computers and is always willing to help members of the club. Anita has been a member of the club since May of 2000.

“We take our computing seriously” says Bette Ashworth, current chairperson of the Rio Concho West Computer Club. In describing how the club’s members benefit from their weekly meetings, Bette says “Not only do we use email, we use scanners, cameras, pay bills and do online banking. We also shop, have brokerage accounts and use ebay. It is important for us to stay up to date and the club helps us do that.”

I love using computers & try to learn as much as I can. Give it a try you will learn so much! I’m on our city’s web site for the computer club with Pat Attebery (KLST). I sound like a Texan. :)
