Google Apps: Freedom and Flexibility For Business Email
I’ve finally organized all (almost all) of my email addresses with Google Apps. It’s like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders! I can now access all of my email, from every account (and I have many), without having to “forward” it to different addresses, just to make sure I’m receiving all messages, from all addresses.
If you have a domain name, for yourself or your business, Google provides a free (or premium) service to “centralize” the whole kit and caboodle!
I’m no longer concerned about email forwarding, spam filtering or losing my email, due to a computer crash. I can access all of my emails from any internet-connected computer, I have 7GB of email storage (per user account, i.e. “sales”, “info”, “support”), I can retrieve email from up to five other addresses (and I can reply from the same address to which the original email was sent), I have a Calendar that I can use to set appointments and I can read most MS Office documents online!
This isn’t a regular Gmail account (yourname
gmail [dot] com). This is a real email account, with info
angelopc [dot] com as my email address!
Google Apps also provides business collaboration tools, such as shareable calendars, chat and workspace for important business information. When I said “centralize”, I meant it! There’s even an available personalized “start page”!
If your employees are currently using your ISP’s email address, instead of your own domain’s email address, you should get with the program. Don’t you think it presents a more professional appearance to have an email address with your business’ domain name included?
If you’re interested in using this service, but don’t know where or how to start, I can provide a setup service, for you or your business, which includes migration from your current email system. Just give me a shout!
