Are automatic registry cleaners safe to use?
Recently, I’ve been very hard-pressed to find a client’s computer without one of the available automatic registry cleaners (registry boosters) installed. I have my own opinion about these products, so I’d like to try to clear up any confusion, relating to these digital wonder drugs.

I was just checking out the SUPERAntiSpyware website and was happy to see that they’ve added a new tool, for computer technicians and average computer users, alike. It’s the SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner.
MyCleanPC.com and DoubleMySpeed.com are Scams
UPDATE 12-10-2009: I thought I had seen the last of the finallyfast.com TV commercials, but, last night, I saw another. Different ad copy, but all the same, lame premise.
As a geek and a friend to my customers, I have to let you know about the heavily-advertised MyCleanPC.com and DoubleMySpeed.com computer cleaning scams.
I had posted articles, a while back, about FinallyFast.com and Ascentive PC SpeedScan Pro. Just as I had suspected, this was a scam to install rogue security programs and spyware on your computer.
Windows 7 Shipping to Manufacturers
Microsoft’s newest operating system, Windows 7, has been released to computer makers. The official launch date is October 22nd, 2009.
I haven’t yet had the opportunity to load the RC onto a test machine. I may do that this week. I’ve already pre-ordered a retail copy, which I’m confident will ship some time before the official launch date.
